Tyrolean Clamp-on Box Mill
This
mill has a hopper that seems proportionately large for the little box
below it, but its construction is exquisite. The tin is folded, formed and
joined with great care; the end result a lovely, if diminutive piece. There is
another of this type in another collection that has a brass hopper, beautifully
polished, which is pictured in our book along with this one. They were typically
made in small shops in the area of Europe adjoining the Alps.
